Antihistamines

If you jumped into the conclusion that this is a post about drug abuse… NO. it is not.
Its just that, for the past 2 weeks or so, my eyes have become extremely itchy and watery…and I just have not been able to resist the urge to scratch ‘em every once in a while. and I…scratch them, and they become all watery..
So, I tried Claritin D, Benadryl and then finally after seeing (and succumbing to) the uber-cute, albeit a little bony, chick on TV commercials for Zyrtec, tried it out yesterday while at work.
Observations:
- Ingested the said drug (tablet) around 2-3 pm… Interestingly enough (for me), watery eyes TOTALLY stopped…within a few minutes of ingestion… which is probably a good thing?
- Felt really sleepy around 4 or so… so much so that, I was actually dreaming about sleeping while at my desk… (sorta like LSD symptoms, no? )
- Reached home around 6pm….and felt the need to sleep even greater! was struggling to keep my eyes open, like REALLY HARD.
- finally crashed at around 10.30, cos I didn’t want to stay awake the entire night by sleeping early.
- Haven’t had watery-eyes problem so far…. for roughly 24 hours after ingestion.
So I conclude based on scientific observation, that Zyrtec is definitely promising in fighting seasonal allergies.
Assumptions: I do have seasonal allergies.
For all I know it could be something else, but I am not paranoid enough to believe I am an alien, based on my looks, so I think the results have a more than fair level of credibility.
Let me guess. You might have DES, thanks to endless hours in front of the monitor.. we are so engrossed in reading blogs that we forget to blink our eyes
Try something like Refresh Tears and give your eyes some rest. Atleast it worked for me
pk - i guess you are right.. i do blink a bit, probably not enough.. andha tear solution try pannen.. but this seems like allergy, because at the same time my eyes become watery, I sneeze too.. nasal irritation also. feeling a lot better nowdays though.. thanks for the suggestion anyway.
